Its all a maze, and I just want to find my way out

I love weddings. What more, a beach wedding! A romantic escapade away from the hustle and bustle of city life... witnessing the biggest moment of your life in the company of the sun, sand and sea. How amazing is that! :) Invited the boy to join me and my family for a distant relative's wedding... and boy was it a night to remember (in a bad way)!

Oh yeah... this was the cup of beer that did me in. Me and my bad habits of not eating well, and not eating at all. So the very smart me didn't eat anything for the entire day, goes to the wedding, down some beer before food and poof, there goes the stomach. Due to the lack of food, my blood sugar went down and I started having black-outs and fainting spells. It was a nightmare trying to get better! The blood sugar took a long time to stabilize while my worried family and boyfriend tried to feed me with sugared drinks and food. Which my body was very much rejecting everything and wanted to just die off. :/ Yikes... never not eating again... :/

Though on a lighter note, the food was really good! Even as my body was resisting most solid foods... I couldn't resist cream of mushroom soup + garlic bread!! Hahaha, I love that, A LOT! :) I had fun just being with the boy and my family. Gives me the warm fuzzy feeling! I definitely hope and would love to attend more weddings, especially those matrimonial ceremonies in churches. I don't know why but that feels more romantic! Haha... the time for weddings, will come! ;)

I've been incredibly busy these days... Work, work, and more work. Gosh! I want to just stop working and start enjoying my holidays! It's really starting to wear me out but I gotta hold on. I'm just praying for strength and mercy to get me through this busy period... please let me be alive at the end of this tunnel :(

I really really wish for things to work out. If anyone knew the kind of desire I have to go towards my dream, they would understand why I would wish for that. Now I just gotta be patient and hope for the best, and do what I can, and most importantly, to hope that this is part of God's plan for me...

I'm riding with the lightning!

"If you say you wish to vote opposition in to get more "voices" into the parliament, fine.

But just remember you are playing a very dangerous game here. 82 out of 87 seats are contested. Nobody can tell how many seats the PAP will win tomorrow. But judging from the overall sentiment, I'd say about 50% of people are strongly pro-opposition.

Because they are very unhappy with PAP. Because they want a change. And they don't really know what they will get with the opposition but they feel that their lives are so bad now that ANYTHING will be better than this. Let me tell you these people just don't know how good they've got it.

Another 30% perhaps want more voices in the parliament. Or among these are people who take voting lightly, thinking they'd support the underdog just because "Hiyah other people will still vote for PAP one lah".

If tomorrow PAP is, god forbid, a minority... And we form a coalition government (which has proven to almost never work), our country is doomed. And I know deep down, most Singaporeans still want PAP governing us.

You want more voices in the government?

But we also need more voices to say 'Hey, I still want PAP to rule leh. I vote them'. And right now that voice is SMALL.

So please, just remember your vote counts!!"

- An excerpt from Xiaxue.blogspot.com

I hear her and entirely understand what she is trying to say. I know of people who purely want to vote the opposition in because they want more voices in the government, and not to support any form of coalition government. Maybe they are taking it lightly. It frustrates me because they think that their vote, only counts in the area of their contested ward, which of course only works in a close-minded view, yes. But it will affect Singapore as a whole to have too many opposition parties in the government. (Note: too many) If everyone thinks the same way of purely wanting some voices in the government and not to support opposition parties taking over the government; if all these youths stand for a weighty percentage in each ward; it's a Good Game. Everyone will count on some invisible group of people to back the PAP up.

These group of people are ever so willing to toy with the future of Singapore for the sake of change, and want to see the worst of parliament debates over issues between all the opposition parties and PAP. More voices, more disagreement, more chaos. Do you really think whatever they promised can then be delivered?

Have you tried working with 19 people for a project?! Well I have. Even as it is divided into 3 main groups, and each group stands for its own specific area to work on, they must each fight for their "rights" in terms of expressing their views and contributing to this idea/project as a whole. Some groups may be weak, and some may be fierce and forceful, but at the end of it all, too many voices resulted in constant displeasure. It resulted in a failed attempt to work together for the many various and obvious reasons I am lazy to list.

Once again, I am not against a few opposition voices in the government. They do need a check and balance. No one is right all the time. Humans need to get a objective view, and be corrected sometimes. My point is, if everyone thinks the same way of wanting some opposition voices, and votes for the opposition, what do we have left? This is a viable outcome of the GE 2011, and I really hope everyone would take into consideration of every aspect of each party before deciding who to vote for.

Cliche, but seriously, Vote Wisely.

Chocolate fondue!

Back to those days as a child where you'd dream of eating chocolate so liberally like that! All the sweet treats in one time, at one go! The boy and I had a coupon, courtesy of DBS Multitude card for a 50% off chocolate fondue from Andersons. The chocolate is super "gao" and you might get a bit sick of it after a while, but the first few mouths are heavenly! Recommended for 4 people... hehe! Unlike, we two greedy people sharing one family fondue.

:)

Touching on something more recent... the GE issue that has been hitting our shores and causing heated arguments among Singaporeans. Never has there been so many oppositions vying for seats in the Parliament (or at least the last time was a reallyyy long time), now, having so many different parties to consider about, people start to weigh the pros and cons, hence bringing about Singaporean's ugliest trait - Complain.

It's really annoying to see that such an election would create so much discontentment between Singaporeans. And because the PAP is the ruling government for the past (inserts number of years), the people see so much more to discredit and to be discontented about. For every single thing that displeases them, they complain, they bring up in the elections, pointing fingers at the government for their mistakes and for the many numerous decisions they've made, that ultimately makes living in Singapore so difficult. With this, I'm referring to the higher cost of living - inflation, GST, high housing, low salaries etc etc. I honestly doubt anyone in the government would purposely make it so difficult for the people. There are many factors that would lead to their decision, though its hard for me to pin-point out, but who wouldn't want to make everything cheap and accessible right?!

No one thinks about the good that PAP has done for us, the numerous things they have done to build Singapore up to how we see it now. It's not easy at all. And I would really love for those people who kept criticizing PAP, to stand up and go into politics. If you have so much to say and complain, then go and do a better job. If you can't, then shut up.

Aljunied GRC is currently one of the hottest contesting GRC in this election, and it's a pity I can't vote. I would really love to vote George Yeo in because even during the non elections period, you can see him going around, constantly involving himself with the youth. The PAP listens, but they also can't accommodate and please everyone. I trust that they hear and consider, and take up the feasible suggestions. If your suggestions are ridiculous and unachievable (due to some reasons), you can't blame them for it.

My discontentment with the Opposition mainly revolves around cheap talk and unrealistic goals. I can't deny that there are some good opposition parties and some good candidates, but I really don't want to see PAP's good candidates, who has had a good track record to get voted out just because Singaporeans want Change.

G's views on this elections are on the opposition's side. We see very, very different views about things. He being an idealist, and me being a realist. It gets heated up at times, but ultimately, his stand is, to have some Opposition candidates to stand in the parliament, to provide a check and balance. Which I agree and support. He however, does not see my point and meet my views about the PAP. But that being said, I am too much of a realist, skeptic, and everything bad. I think the worst of people unless proven. Though I am not entirely supportive of some things that PAP have said during this GE (mainly about other Opposition parties), but I will trust and ultimately, believe in their decisions.

Ma Maison

It's been long since I've last blogged and it's time to catch up with my food porn that spanned over the past few months! First up, Ma Maison. The boy and I decided to have a date night at Ma Maison, the second time we've tried it. And because I love that place so much, I bugged him to bring me there again. And this time, we visited the outlet located at Central. Ma Maison never fails to bring in the crowds during the weekends. Also because of its small dining area, we had to reserve prior to our visit to ensure a table!
