Our acquired tastebuds

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Today is a special day for Christians & Catholics, but a much awaited long weekends for everyone else. Enjoying every bit of the cheery holiday mood that's going around! Of course also lapping up the good food that's in stored this weekend. Tsk, time for my weekday gym sessions soon.

Gonna blog about one of our dressed-up dates. I love such dates cos we both get to dress up, look good, and eat yummy food (:

Cam-whoring while waiting for the bus to town hehh.

We headed to one of our favourite food haunts, Itacho Sushi for lunch. We only head there for lunch because of the Sake Don, that's only available during weekdays lunch. It's basically salmon sashimi over rice, but we love it a lot because there's a lot of salmon! But during our last visit, they seem to have lesser sashimi... Mmm. But it was yummy anyway.

ROASTED SALMON AT $0.40?!?! Favourite!!! I posted this on Instagram, and so many others said they loved this as well! Hahaha, no wonder they implemented a limit to the number of servings per head. SAD! :(

The top picture was taken with my iPhone, and the bottom, with a DSLR. Look at the clarity! Just look! iPhone <3 <3 <3 #onceafanforeverafan

This was just in front of me... I wish I could have the entire plate.

G took a quick shot of someone else's dish before it got served, hahaha.

We walked over to Kinokuniya for some book hunting time. It's always lovely to grab a book and sit someplace peaceful and enjoy it. I used to read a lot. Not extensively, but only from the genres and authors I love. I wish I can have the luxury and the concentration of my younger days. These days I feel like concentrating on something I'm reading requires a lot more effort. Especially if it isn't a non-fiction book. There's no imaginary world that can draw you in when it's non-fiction.

Anyway I bought the book, Sun Tzu for Women :D It's a good read, especially for entrepreneurs I feel!

OOTD: Lace Sweetheart Dress from Lace & Ebony

We wanted to have high tea on the rare (free) day that we can hang out like that. We decided to give Paris Baguette at Wisma a shot after I saw all the pictures on Instagram about the Royal Pudding. One bottle is... $4? :/ Ouch, but it was really good! I loved it and wish I could try more flavours. Next time I shall! We ordered a Maple Pecan Scone to share too cos it was nearly 5 when we sat to have tea and it's so close to dinner time, whoops.

Plus a pot of very expensive tea to share!! It's $11 for a small pot of tea. The tea is the same price as TWG but comes in a smaller pot, but refillable though. Just felt really sian after ordering it despite the tea being somewhat nice. The coffees are way cheaper.

Well well, it's English Breakfast Kusmi tea from Paris! :x

I don't exactly like the atmosphere of Paris Baguette for tea? It seemed very... not as ideal as... okay, TWG is in a different league, fine. But this exudes a reallyyy casual dining experience, and evidently not equable to the amount of money the food costs. However, despite saying that, I'd definitely head back for a chance to try more flavours of the Royal Pudding and attack the scrumptious looking bread/cakes on display. Oh and they serve brunch too!

Hehehe, I love this look of mine! Especially loving the subtle curls too. My hair is way too straight and fine. To get some volume, I'd need to curl it, and it's really time consuming. Considering trying for a hair end only perm. Shall see what my hair stylist says the next time I'm there.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Relax away!

Monday's Colors

My Monday has been a rather fulfilling one. I love this level of work. Let me bury myself in work, it fuels my soul! Teehee. It's not all that easy, but passion takes you through the tough times. Honestly I can go on all day about this, but that's not the main topic for today... (:

Here's the color palette for the latest co-manufactured Asymmetrical Peplum top with Pearlavish. From modelling for them to working with them. Naise! Thank you for the many opportunities Pearlyn! Oh and there's a paperbag skirt toooo. Check out Lace & Ebony's Facebook tomorrow for more pictures.

And yesss, here's the Colored Denim jeans that I'm absolutely in love with. I've recently been into pants/jeans/jeggings. Prior to end last year, I rarely go out in jeans because of Singapore's crazy weather. But end last year, I brought back 2 denims from London, and this year I've already gotten myself these 3 colored denim + 1 floral denim jeans! I'm crazyyyyy for them. Hahaha! On the hunt for basic tops/sweaters or anything to go along with these babies!

Tip: Go all out in colors when you're wearing these to make a statement! And if you want those to die for legs, pair them in heels & wedges. Instant long legs, swear. LOLL.

Fresh off today's shoot! Just a preview cos I'm still working on them (:

Here's the link to get these jeans:

I feel like my Monday is instantly made better looking at these colors, hahaha!

Bye from the goofy us! :P

Play Catch-Up!

Here's my weekly/bi-weekly mash up of pictures on the go!
A random mix of them, sooo might be a little disjointed here and there, sorry!

Here's how we indulge in occasions. Hand-made gift cards are old school but they are still the best form of expression of love (: Here's my relatively belated V-day Card to him. Given like... 1+ / 2 weeks after V-day :/

Late night treats with my dearest girl who's now actively pursuing a career path that would ultimately lead to her ideal lifestyle. Way to go girl! We're both doing our own thing but it's still heartwarming to catch up with her. 6 years of friendship together, plus she's just staying a few roads away from me! Heh.

Our crazy delicious meal at SPRMKRT, and it's my 3rd time there? I don't think I've ever visited a cafe so many times before! Haha. My friends really are awesome. Try waiting till 3 plus 4 just to catch lunch with me. I don't think anyone would do that without wanting to kill me, hahaha. Thank you Debbie for such awesome foodie hunts!

Plus, remember I mention a good & really affordable place to have steak somewhere in the central/west? Well, this place is at Toa Payoh. It's called Tims Restaurant & Cafe. We headed there after mass on a Sunday night with G's family. It's your simple neighbourhood eat-out place, but the food is really really good for its price. Here's my Ribeye Steak shown above. It's about $16+/- without an additional few dollars for the set meal (with soup, dessert, and drink). Besides steak, there's the oxtail (which was also another favourite among us) and seafood. Well, I guess it's the usual Western cuisine offerings, but what made this place stand out is the overall great taste of all their dishes with the affordable price tag pegged on it. Plus, the set meal is super worth it! Definitely worth a try if you live in that area.

My OOTD for a casual day out. I am in love with the shorts! Feeling like there's a 'glam' touch with the embellishments on it. Rocking it way more than a basic shorts ;)

Tank Top: Monki, Embellished Shorts: Lace & Ebony

A very healthy meal after work (event) with Keline & Lydia. This was at Raffles Xchange (Raffles Place MRT). I can't remember the name of the shop, but it's near Laoban! I rarely eat this healthy for any meal, but this changed my mind. I had a cabbage & meatball soup + rice! Although it was a little pricey, it felt like it's a good weekly detox for my system. Felt so good having it hahaha. How the mind deceives :P

Here's another place I checked out with his parents on a Sunday for lunch at Foo House Cafe & Bar. For someone who lives in the east and frequents that stretch of shophouses (where Momoya is), I've never really paid attention to this little quaint restaurant. They have lots of vintage items and old-style furnishing. It's actually pretty cool!

Here are some of the dishes we ordered:

Beef Burger

Oxtail with Aglio Olio (Set meal)

Other dishes not pictured, Roast Duck (they actually served up half of the duck and the dish costs $18. Mmm not bad!), Hainanese Pork Chop & Rice, Oxtail Stew (without the spaghetti), and Steak. According to his family, everything else we ordered was pretty good too!

I was feeling extremely hungry and was up to something huge, so yes, I ordered a big plate of pasta + Oxtail. Me and my appetite, goodness -.- I gave a generous amount of Oxtail to G after realising that.. yes it's actually quite a lot to stomach. But everything was sooo good. Slurped up everything else. Hehe.

Sooo... more supper outings on Friday with my food-partner-in-crime :D

Yong He at Geylang for my favourite favourite Taiwan Meesua!

Hongkong Teahouse at Simpang Bedok just last Friday for some late night dim-sum. The Liu Sha bao is the bombzzz. Loved it! It's so awesome to be able to satisfy liu sha bao craving late at night. It's great to be in the east with abundant supper places!!!!! :D

Now will someone open a sushi supper place already???? Where to satisfy my random sushi cravings? :(

Sneak preview of the upcoming co-manufactured skirt. The laser cut details are to die for! Gorgeous! I'm keeping them in every color, no kid! Plus the Chanel Boy inpsired bag is still on preorder. Get yours and better hurry! Preorder is closing tomorrow as our slots actually ran out, but we're opening up just a few more! (:

Have a great week ahead!

Oh, doggies!

My overdue post on our date out:
Brunch at Penny University and a trip to We're the Furballs! :)

There are many lovely brunch places, concept cafes in Singapore that I'd love to check out, and would have to do so soon before the labour crunch kicks in and/or these small cafes find it hard to sustain themselves. The turnover rate for these cafes are increasingly high, and it's really sad to see the good ones go. But here's us! Conquering one at a time ;)

We made a long-awaited trip down to Upper East Coast road/Siglap area to try Penny University after seeing people instagramming brunch/food from there! The menu is small but decent, with a variety of cakes on display too.

French toast! G prefers sweet brunches while I prefer to opt for savoury ones. It's nice to share like that too so we get the best of both worlds.

My Smoked salmon bagel with a poached egg add on. It was yummy, despite the bagel being really hard.

The food at Penny University was generally good. It's one of the brunch places that serves decent food but it was lacking of the wow factor that would encourage me to visit it a second time mostly because of the lacking in menu items. The concept feels somewhat similar to other cafes I've been to before. :/ But we weren't thaaaatt disppointed cos the food was still nice. On the hunt for more cafes/brunch places to go to!!

We visited We're the Furballs (WTF) for the... 4th time! We love that place so much and we can stay there for half the day, playing with the lovely sweethearts, or just watching them sleep. They are so lovable. You'll instantly fall in love with them!

Meet Lulu the Toy Poodle! :)

I love it when they crawl onto my legs and snuggle up in my embrace... <3

Look at how high they can jump!! Hahaha, G loves to play with them. I don't know why were they so enthralled with his bubble tea straw! Even after he threw it away in the bin, Duchess (the King Charles) kept staring at the bin in sadness. Awww :(

The little ones were so curious when I tried to capture them. And when they moved closer to the camera, I just clicked! Teehee. Although the pics are out of focus, it's still realllyyyy cute don't you think!

Slinky the Dachshund.

Lola the Pomeranian

Yuki-chan the golden Pomeranian!

Duchess!

Hehehe, and meet Buibui! :) The fiercest looking one, but she's such a gentle creature. Though she's really heavy and G & I have to restrict her from sleeping and lying on our legs cos it'll be sooo numb afterwards hehe!!

Mochi the Maltese :)

Awwww they are all such cuties! Looking at the pictures really makes me miss them. I am so thankful that a concept like this could happen in Singapore (so much gratitude to the people who made this happen), and for dog lovers like me who can't own a dog at the moment, this is definitely the place to go to be able to play with these lovable animals. To me, this is the place to go to seek therapy. To play with the dogs and forget all my stress, worries, or sadness because they make me smile with the simplest thing they do. Thank you for bringing me there, G <3
