Two brunches, One weekend

A date out with the boy!

A few Saturdays back, we managed to find time out of our really bad schedule (friends, family, other commitments), to head out for a quick brunch fix! We had some food earlier from a wedding reception so we decided to go light and checked out Stranger's Reunion, a cafe that I've been waiting to go to for a while.

It took us a while to find the cafe and you'll really need to look hard. It's something easier to stumble upon, than to set out to look for. Anyhow, we settled into the small & cosy cafe, and ordered the Buttermilk Waffles each, Hot Chocolate & Magic, an interesting thick coffee concoction which would very much appeal to coffee lovers.

That's all that is outside! A noticeboard, haha! The waffles were not bad (worth a try!). The hot chocolate can't be compared to WimblyLu!! :( I'm waiting for a good time and a date to check out the famous waffles at WimblyLu! :) Sadly... most of these cafes boasts of their novelty and decor, but some of them really don't warrant a second visit because of the food, the inaccessibility and the limited menu. Le sigh. In constant search of a lovely hang-out cafe / brunch place!

The Sunday after, we had to do an L&E shoot at the botanic gardens. It seems like there's limited places to shoot in Singapore huh. It's either here, or there. Haha, no surprises! I thought of trying Food for Thought, since we're already at Botanics and we're both really hungry. So yay, second brunch in one weekend makes us happy people.

Yet again, the brunch was disappointing. I ordered Scrambled eggs, Sausages and Sautéed Mushrooms, while he had the Cuban Ham & Pulled pork burger. We both shared the Hazelnut Chocolate Pancakes for dessert. I think the only dish we had that stood out was the Cuban Ham & Pulled Pork burger! The whole combination was really yummy! My brunch item was just.... normal, alright I guess? :/ The pancakes weren't so bad, but there was so little of the Hazelnut Chocolate! Next time, I'll probably give brunch a miss (except the pancakes...), but worth trying the lunch items there.
