The Famed Croissant

The long weekends are here!! :) It doesn't seem very significant to me with G away, but I'm sure everyone else is looking forward to this! Thankful that this year, we've got a couple of long weekends ;) I'm here to share more brunch places and I hope that my past posts have been of help to those seeking reviews, or refreshing places to check out. Granted that I haven't been to them all, but I'm slowly ticking them off my list and I really miss my food-partner-in-crime :(

I'm sure Tiong Bahru Bakery isn't a strange name to many out there. Word has gotten to many about their famed croissant. Of course we both had to have it! As we haven't had lunch, we've ordered a few of their other items to hopefully fill up our tummies.

We've ordered the Croissant, Squid Ink Burger, Smoked Salmon Burger, and this other peculiar sounding pastry (the description said something about salted cameral!). The winner for us? The peculiar sounding pastry! Apologies on not taking down the name for y'all, but it should be easy to spot! ;)

Sadly, the Croissant didn't quite live up to our expectations. But in fairness, we had it the last, after all our burgers and whatnot, so we might be a little too full to make a proper judgement. The taste is a little on the heavy side. Quite enough to make your tea-time meal filling. I'd love to try it again, perhaps this time, the Chocolate Croissant? :)

I didn't quite like the Smoked Salmon Burger because it had wayyyy too much rockets. But then again it could just be me because I'm not a vege fan. The squid ink burger however, is definitely worth a try ;)

I have a weakness for pretty coffee!!

So what was your experience with the Croissants? Yay or nay? :)

Snippets of my loved ones

Digging out the random pictures snapped in back in August. Very long ago I know, but it's too lovely to just stay on my Facebook and not on my personal blog. :) Plus, it's nice to see pictures of my favourite person, favourite animal and favourite food here teehee.

The BEBE series!
One of the most adorable toy poodles I've ever seen. No wonder toy poodles are such a favourite, they are simply adorable!! Bebe's my cousin's dog and I only get to see him during celebrations, boo :( Get ready to get your heart melted by him!!

One of our favourite Japanese restaurants, Itacho. It's a hit with Singaporeans as well, judging on how long the queues are during meal times and how many branches they've expanded on our little island. Their prices are considerably reasonable and I love how fresh the sashimi is! Fav fav fav, and I miss having G to have these meals with me...

Beer sampling only @ $10. Not bad huh! But I am absolutely not a fan of beer... sigh.

G crash and burning after our Beef buffet!

Night out @ Night's Festival! Really not my thing with the crowds and the abstract performances. The local bands were awesome though! :)

Very excited for the coming Lace & Ebony's collections. I know you'll start to realise a lot of repetitive styles like Peplums and Knits, but I promise, I'll scruntize and bring in only the best of these styles, hehe. Can't help but feel like a lot of these styles would fit perfectly in my wardrobe!! :D Plus, tomorrow would be my first time behind the camera, wish me luck! I hope all goes well and I'll still bring the best of clothes to the lovely lovely customers. To those who've emailed and said "Thank You(s)", thank YOU! You don't know how much you've made someone's day by just a simple phrase. These people really remind me why it's so gratifying to bring in pretty clothes to make people happy!

Therapy for the soul

In just 2 days, I've gotten myself a new MBK Pro, and an iPhone 5! Courtesy of my parents, who helped a lot in getting my gadgets because I really need them! Long story there, but that's for twitter, hehe! But soooo happy & of course, ever so grateful to them <3

Here's a short update on awesome brunch places / cafes to add on to my list. G & I have explored quite a bit and I must say, I'm quite proud of where we've gone to, and the food we had. This is a growing trend in Singapore and it definitely adds a spice to the mundane activities available here.

I'll post up the places we've been to, slowly over the months. It's not that easy looking at pictures of us (with him so far apart) while I edit them at the moment sooo... step by step! :)

These are the muffins I baked specially for my loved ones! Chocolate banana, teehee. This recipe is relatively easier than the Tiramisu one I attempted before this. Next batch, rainbows? :D Who wants to be my guinea pigs??

Brunch at Group Therapy Cafe!

Yet another weekend brunch at a new cafe, and this time, we decided to head to Group Therapy! I've heard quite a bit about this cafe from everyone, and I'm so glad it's finally our turn to give it a try. It's known for it's coffee (I think) but it also aces with the food. Such is hard to find in cafes these days where many are sprouting up without actually getting their menu right.

We both ordered Smoked Salmon & Poached eggs with lots of hollandaise sauce! Look at them! Haha, the serving is really deceiving because I was really full when I'm done with my meal. Nonetheless, the dish was really good and we both loved it! :) Plus, the place was really pretty too. It can get crowded during the weekend though!!

Thank you thank you G for always being my wonderful food exploring partner, and my partner in everything else too. Missing you terribly from home... <3
