Keep in check

I really appreciate the flexibility of being able to rest and work alternatively. It really allows me to refresh and recharge and get on to my next work assignment better. My health also disallows for me to push myself very hard constantly.. even for a normal human, it gets tiring. No one's that much of a superman. So, I'm really thankful I'm able to rest this week! Just gotten mild food poisoning over the weekends... right after I completed my crazy work stint! Supposed to be resting and enjoying myself fully but found myself unable to do so! :( G & I ate pretty much the same things during that period of time, and I might have weaken my stomach considerably to be so susceptible to any form of food bacteria. TSK. I'm always the one getting it :(

But anywayyy, I'm better and trying to ease my stomach into a quick recovery! (Y)

Thank you for lending me your shoulder to rest on when I'm weary, and for frowning to me when I wilfully try to eat food that's detrimental to my health. We both aren't perfect, but thank you for loving and doting on me like I am.

COMFORT FOOD! (: (:

Passed by a Cookies for Sid outlet before our date, and couldn't resist getting one of these. Surprised G with the S'mores & Nutella flavoured ones. Not bad! (:

My favourite item from the recent collection! Please excuse the creases, just came out of the theatres from Ironman 3 :D I love the flattering cut and exquisite material that's used for the romper. Chose White to suit my newly tanned skin (booo! Haha!). I can vouch for the premium quality of this! (:

Dinner was at Nam Nam Noodle bar. We've always wanted to try it and finally got a chance after his exams ended! I loveee the sandwich. We ordered the Pork Belly sandwich with Pork Pate. The noodles seemed pretty authentic though I can't say much because I haven't been to Vietnam. The soup had a particular herb smell which really repels me though it's not evident when you eat/drink it. The overall dish is still yummy though! (: Couldn't even finish half of my dinner because of the food poisoning.

Ahahaha. PRETTY! (: This makes me happy and makes it a step towards being a brand of its own. Those who've ordered from L&E in the last two collections would have spotted these in their mailboxes :D Can't stop staring at the new clothes label too. We're be having a mixture of the old & the new labels in our new apparels though.

A random photo during our night drive out to the central. Breath-taking skylines. It's something we're all very familiar with because it's our home, but putting myself in a tourist persepctive? It really is lovely. Not the best, but still lovely.

Have you checked out the collection yet? (:

Spring's Fling

The past couple of weeks have been whoaaa. Taking a little breather now to update my space. This was a shoot that I squeezed in right after the Singapore Yacht Show. I never like to plan too many things in one day. E.g. Shoot in the morning, work in the afternoon. It's absolutely draining and exhausting, and I would like to always give my best in whatever task I have to do at that point of time. Plus, I'm pretty much handling Lace & Ebony solo and doing every thing myself, from the planning, right down to the manual labour. That particular period of time wasn't as ideal, as G had exams to deal with too, so I was really stretching my physical self to the maximum.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger right? Yes, it most certainly did :) And looking back, I'm glad I'm taking on more, doing more with my youth. Rather than to let time pass me by and feel more inadequate when I get older.

I got Fiona to head down to National Museum with me on a Monday morning for a shoot! I know the National Museum has been used recently for a lot of (blogshop) shoots, but I didn't really care because I'm in love with the architecture! It's one of the rare few places in Singapore that still strikes me as beautiful. Despite having been to the National Museum for shoots probably like, several times, I felt that Fiona wonderfully brought out a whole different perspective while shooting for Lace & Ebony. Honestly her talent is undeniable! <3 Everyone knows how important photos are to any online store, and for me, Fiona does her utmost best to bring out so much beauty in the pictures for me that from time to time, when I browse the various lookbooks, I still feel overwhelmed. In a good way of course (:

So here are the pictures, my favourite selects from the series!

I hope you enjoy the lookbooks as much as I do! (:

Contact Fiona at Smittenpixels Photography if you'd like to shoot anything from fashion, to your love stories, to your wedding perhaps!

Spring Edition 7 is now up and available on our webstore (yay just launched!!) :

Would like to end this post with something I came across and it really touched me so I'm sharing it here also as a reminder to myself.

"Unrest derives largely from that which we don’t have the grace to accept what isn’t for us.  I can think of so many incidents in my own life in which I’ve struggled only because I couldn’t accept what was innately meant (and not meant) for me. Easier said than done, I know. But the things we leave behind are never as wonderful as those that we eventually find. The path is long and unknown but we continue because we know it’s also one of growth and experience. The most beautiful things arise from the least promising situations… light can only shine in the darkness, right? To have the grace to accept what isn’t meant for you is cultivated by finding hope, trust and faith that you will find greater things, bigger loves and better days. Knowing that when things least look like they’re going to change, that’s usually when they do. When it least seems the universe is on your side, it’s most guiding you and carrying you."

Touchdown!

Been so busy working for the past couple of weeks. Burning weekends, exhausting myself and pushing my body to the limits. I guess this is how much I'm willing to put in to make Lace & Ebony go the distance by working to give my baby a better future. It sure isn't easy and I come back with legs that feel like breaking, body feels like crashing. #staypositive

Anyway, join us at Raffles City from today till 8th May to take a picture of the awesome 3D street art. Upload it to Instagram to take part in our contest and win $100 shopping vouchers daily! Please come and show me some love too. There's this terrible chain of stress that corporate companies adopt and it really is wearing the 4 of us down. Thankful I still have Lydia with me to talk to! :) 6 more days to go, c'mon!

Sorry for the lack of proper updates, but I'll do a Vlog of my May's VanityTrove soon! I've yet to have the time to open it yet teehee. But a new collection coming up this Tuesday, so stay tuned for some lovely manufactured printed dresses ;)
