Spring's Fling

The past couple of weeks have been whoaaa. Taking a little breather now to update my space. This was a shoot that I squeezed in right after the Singapore Yacht Show. I never like to plan too many things in one day. E.g. Shoot in the morning, work in the afternoon. It's absolutely draining and exhausting, and I would like to always give my best in whatever task I have to do at that point of time. Plus, I'm pretty much handling Lace & Ebony solo and doing every thing myself, from the planning, right down to the manual labour. That particular period of time wasn't as ideal, as G had exams to deal with too, so I was really stretching my physical self to the maximum.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger right? Yes, it most certainly did :) And looking back, I'm glad I'm taking on more, doing more with my youth. Rather than to let time pass me by and feel more inadequate when I get older.

I got Fiona to head down to National Museum with me on a Monday morning for a shoot! I know the National Museum has been used recently for a lot of (blogshop) shoots, but I didn't really care because I'm in love with the architecture! It's one of the rare few places in Singapore that still strikes me as beautiful. Despite having been to the National Museum for shoots probably like, several times, I felt that Fiona wonderfully brought out a whole different perspective while shooting for Lace & Ebony. Honestly her talent is undeniable! <3 Everyone knows how important photos are to any online store, and for me, Fiona does her utmost best to bring out so much beauty in the pictures for me that from time to time, when I browse the various lookbooks, I still feel overwhelmed. In a good way of course (:

So here are the pictures, my favourite selects from the series!

I hope you enjoy the lookbooks as much as I do! (:

Contact Fiona at Smittenpixels Photography if you'd like to shoot anything from fashion, to your love stories, to your wedding perhaps!

Spring Edition 7 is now up and available on our webstore (yay just launched!!) :

Would like to end this post with something I came across and it really touched me so I'm sharing it here also as a reminder to myself.

"Unrest derives largely from that which we don’t have the grace to accept what isn’t for us.  I can think of so many incidents in my own life in which I’ve struggled only because I couldn’t accept what was innately meant (and not meant) for me. Easier said than done, I know. But the things we leave behind are never as wonderful as those that we eventually find. The path is long and unknown but we continue because we know it’s also one of growth and experience. The most beautiful things arise from the least promising situations… light can only shine in the darkness, right? To have the grace to accept what isn’t meant for you is cultivated by finding hope, trust and faith that you will find greater things, bigger loves and better days. Knowing that when things least look like they’re going to change, that’s usually when they do. When it least seems the universe is on your side, it’s most guiding you and carrying you."
